Fernando Armstrong-Fumero is an associate professor of anthropology at Smith College. He has conducted research in Maya-speaking communities in Yucatan, Mexico, since 1997. Julio Hoil Gutierrez, CIESAS Peninsular is a historian with a broad range of experience conducting archaeological, ethnographic, and documentary research and a prize-winning author of Yukatek (Yucatec) Maya literature.
