One of the best-known illustrators in France, Joelle Jolivet was born in 1965. She studied Graphic Art and Advertising at School of Applied Arts in Paris. Joelle was always interested in engraving and printing, so she spent a year in the lithography workshop at the Beaux Arts. This led her to the discipline of lino-cutting, which has remained her main mode of expression ever since. Joelle has illustrated around 10 books, some of them - such as 365 Penguins - going on to become world bestsellers. Apart from book work, she has illustrated numerous book covers, and also works for the press from time to time. Joelle lives in Ivry-sur-Seine, close to Paris.
