Jean-Francois Huchet is Associate Professor, University of Rennes II. He has been the Head Economist at the Centre for Study of Contemporary China (CEFC), Hong Kong. He teaches at EHESS (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris). He is a specialist of indus-try transformation and technological catching-up in China. Xavier Richet is Professor, University Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris. He is a specialist of former socialist Eastern European countries, of post-socialist transition and Russian economy. In the framework of RECEP (Russian-European Center for Economic Policy), a joint EU-Russian think-tank, he has worked as an adviser to the Russian ministry of foreign trade on the economic transformation of Russia (2000-2002). His research includes technological change in several industries. Joel Ruet, an alumni from Ecole des mines, Paris, is Fellow at the London School of Econo-mics. He has been Head Economist and Director of Centre de Sciences Humaines in New Delhi. He taught at Jawaharlal Nehru University and currently teaches at HEC (Hautes Etudes Commerciales, France). He works on infrastructure and State-industry relation.
