Dr. Joe Knetsch is recently retired as a senior historian for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, author of Florida’s Seminole Wars, 1817-1858 (Arcadia Press, 2003), Fear and Anxiety on the Florida Frontier: Articles on the Second Seminole War (Seminole Wars Foundation, 2008), and five other books on Florida history. John and Mary Lou Missall are authors of several works on the subject as well as two novels on the Seminole Wars, Elizabeth’s War and Hollow Victory, which have both won the prestigious Patrick D. Smith Award for Florida Fiction.
