Joachim Deppert (b.1944), studied Western Music, Comparative Religion, Sanskrit, History of Indian Art, and Anthropology mainly in Heidelberg. He obtained a doctoral degree with a thesis about incest in Vedic mythology, after which he did a post-graduate research in Varanasi (BHU), and a field research in Kashmir.
