Jill Gould (MSc PGDip SFHEA, QN, BSc SPQDN, RGN) has been a registered nurse since 1983, a District Nurse and prescriber since 1999 and a senior lecturer since 2006. She is currently Programme Leader for the Non-medical (Independent and supplementary) prescribing programmes at the University of Derby, and external examiner for other prescribing programmes. She is a Queen′s Nurse, a member of the Association for Prescribers and the Association of District Nurse and Community Nurse Educators. Having spent her formative nursing years in Canada, Jill is an avid supporter of community, District Nursing and prescribing by nurses and midwives. Dr. Heather Bain (EdD, FQNIS, FHEA, PGCert, HELT, BA, DipDN, RGN) is Assistant Head of Department at University of Highlands and Islands. Heather has previous experience as Academic Strategic Lead: Academic Programmes with overall responsibility for all academic programmes and courses within the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Practice at Robert Gordon University. Since coming into education in 2002 she has lead the implementation of the Extended Nurse Prescribing course and subsequently became the course leader of the post registration district nurse course and then led the Masters courses and CPD portfolio within the School. Heather has actively promoted community nursing throughout the UK, being a member of the Association of District Nurse and Community Nurse Educators, a Fellow of QNIS and on a number of national working groups. She is also one of the co-ordinators behind @weDistrictNurse on Twitter.
