Goran Tomašević, born 1969, is a Serbian photographer. Working for Reuters, he has spent more than 20 years travelling around the globe to cover the world’s biggest stories. His pictures of wars and revolutions are among the most important images of the conflicts in the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, South Sudan, Pakistan, Mozambique, DR Congo, Central African Republic, Burundi or Nigeria. Tomašević’s work has been recognised with many prestigious international awards. He has been named “Reuters Photographer of the Year” four times, received the first prize in the “Spot News Stories“ category at World Press Photo, the “China International Press Photo of the Year”, the “SOPA Award of Excellence for News Photography”, the “London Frontline Club Award” and the “Days Japan“ award. He was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography. The Guardian’s photo team chose Goran Tomašević as their agency photographer of the year for 2013. International Business Times UK chose Goran as their agency photographer of the year for 2016. In 2019, Tomašević and several of his colleagues from Reuters were awarded with the Pulitzer Prize Breaking News Photography award, for covering the mass migration of Central and South Americans to the United States. David Thomson is chairman and owner of Thomson Reuters. Jean-François Leroy organises and directs the Visa pour l'image festival of photojournalism in Perpignan. Vincent Jolly is chief reporter at the French Le Figaro Magazine. Alain Mingam was president of the World Press Photo Contest in 1994 and vice president of Reporters Without Borders 2013 - 2015.
