Jawad Yaseen Siddiqui Author

Jayshri Kulkarni received the B.E degree in E&TC from Shivaji University, M.E from PICT College, and a Ph.D. degree in ECE from Anna University. From 2006 to 2009, she was a Lecturer at the GSM College of Engineering, Pune. From 2010 to 2022, she was an Assistant Professor at the E&TC Department, VIIT, Pune. She is currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Associate with Baylor University, USA. She has authored more than ten books, and more than 50 research papers in reputed journals and conferences. Her research interests include antennas, microwave engineering, wireless communications, and wireless sensors. She received several awards, including the Desmond Sim Award for Best Antenna Design Paper at IEEE InCAP 2019, the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award at ICRAMET-2020, and the Best Paper of the Session Award at IEEE ESCI-2021. She was one of the recipients of the reputed Mojgan Daneshmand Grant awarded by IEEE (AP-S)-2022.

Chow-Yen-Desmond Sim was born in Singapore in 1971. He received the B.Sc. degree from the Engineering Department, University of Leicester, U.K., in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree from the Radio System Group, Engineering Department, University of Leicester, in 2003. In 2007, he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Feng Chia University, Taiwan, where he became a Full Professor in 2012 and as a Distinguish Professor in 2017. He has authored or coauthored over 200 SCI papers, and his current research interests include 5G antenna design and RFID applications. He is a Fellow of the IET, Senior Member of the IEEE AP Society, and a Life Member of the IAET. Since 2016, he has been serving as the technical consultant of SAG (Securitag Assembly Group), which is one of the largest RFID tag manufacturers in Taiwan. He is also the technical consultant of Avary Holding (the largest PCB manufacturer) since 2018.

Jawad Yaseen Siddiqui is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Institute of Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta, India. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Radio Physics and Electronics, University of Calcutta in 2005. He worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Royal Military College of Canada and Visiting Researcher at Queen’s University, Canada at different periods during 2008-2021. He has more than 150 publications in peer reviewed journals and conferences. His research areas include printed circuits and antennas, radar and nano-photonics. He is a Co-Principal Investigator of Stratosphere Troposphere (ST) Radar Project at the University of Calcutta. He is the recipient of 2022 Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE)-S.N. Mitra Memorial Award for contribution and leadership role in radio broadcast science and technology. He is currently the IEEE AP-S Committee Chair for AP-S SIGHT Committee.

Anisha M. Apte graduated in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from The Savitribai Phule University of Pune, India; MSEE from NJIT NJ, USA; and (Dr.-Ing.) from BTU (Brandenburg Technical University) Cottbus, Germany. She worked at Hindustan Instruments; Ultraline Instruments, in Pune; Discovery Semiconductors, in New Jersey, USA, and then joined Synergy Microwave in 2003, and has been working on signal-generation and signal-processing electronics, reference-frequency-standards, and Metamaterial Resonators for signal- source-applications.

Dr. Apte has published many papers in IEEE conferences and journals and received awards for her scientific contributions. She is a dedicated IEEE volunteer, currently serving as the Vice-Chair-2, and various other positions of the IEEE North Jersey Section, and also the IEEE AP-S society, where she is an elected AdCom member for the term 2022-2024. She is the recipient of the 2021 and 2012 IEEE Region-1 Support for IEEE Mission Award for Outstanding Contributions to the IEEE North Jersey Section.

Ajay Kumar Poddar (SM 2005, Fellow 2015) is working as a Chief Scientist at Synergy Microwave, NJ, USA, responsible for the design and development of signal generation and signal processing electronics, RF-MEMS, and Metamaterial-Sensors/Electronics for industrial, medical, space applications. He is also serving as a visiting professor in the University of Oradea, Romania, Indian Institute of Technology Jammu, India. He has received over dozen awards, like 2015 IEEE IFCS Cady Award in recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions. Dr. Poddar published 350 plus scientific papers in journals, magazines, and conference proceedings, co-authored 4 technical books/chapters, and 40 plus patents for scientific and technological innovations. For the past 30 years, he has supervised many Ph.D. scholars. He is currently serving in several scientific committees, professional societies, and voluntary organizations. He has been actively involved with IEEE SIGHT/HAC, IEEE sister societies, and IEEE MGA activities, including charitable services.

Ulrich L. Rohde is a Partner of Rohde & Schwarz, Munich Germany; Chairman of Synergy Microwave Corp., Paterson, New Jersey; President of Communications Consulting Corporation; serving as an honorary member of the Senate of the University of the Armed Forces Munich, Germany honorary member of the Senate of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg, Germany; past member of the Board of Directors of Ansoft Corporation, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Rohde is serving as a Professor of Radio-Microwave Frequency Theory and Techniques at several universities worldwide, to name a few : Honorary Professor IIT-Delhi, Honorary Chair Professor IIT-Jammu.

Rohde has published 400+ scientific papers, co-authored over dozen books, and over 4 dozens patents; received several awards, to name a few recent awards: recipient of 2022 IEEE Photonics Society Engineering Achievement Award, 2021 Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, 2017 IEEE AP-S Distinguish achievement award.
