Jane Arthurs is Professor of Media and Cultural Studies in the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education at University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. She has written widely on gender and sexuality in film and television, including The Crash Controversy: Censorship Campaigns and Film Reception (2001) and Television and Sexuality: Regulation and the Politics of Taste (2004).
