Wildlife artist James F. Landenberger (1938–2003) was the first three-time winner of the Iowa outdoor stamp design contests; his original watercolours and limited-edition prints are a lasting legacy to his craft.

Dean M. Roosa was Iowa’s state ecologist from 1975 to 1992; he is coauthor of Iowa Birds, The Vascular Plants of Iowa (Iowa 1994), Wildflowers and Other Plants of Iowa Wetlands, and Wildflowers of the Tallgrass Prairie (Iowa 2010).

Jon W. Stravers is the Driftless Area Coordinator for the National Audubon Society’s Mississippi River Initiative, founder of the Big Blue Sky music project, and coauthor of Gladys Black: The Legacy of Iowa’s Bird Lady and Sylvan T. Runkel: Citizen of the Natural World.

Bruce Ehresman is avian ecologist for the Iowa Department of Natural Resource’s Wildlife Diversity Program.

Rich Patterson has been director of the Indian Creek Nature Center since 1978.
