Jamal Naji Author

Jamal Naji is a Jordanian novelist and short story writer who was shortlisted for the IPAF in 2010 for his novel I'ndama Thasheekh Al-Dhiaab (When Wolves Got Old). He wrote a dozen of novels and short story collections and published his work in well-known publishing houses in the Arab World. He is awarded the Prize of the Jordanian State 2014 for his narrative writing, which is the most prestigious prize awarded in Jordan. Paula Haydar has translated several novels by leading Lebanese novelists Sahar Khalifah and Elias Khoury. She won the Arkansas Arabic Translation Prize for her translation of Khoury's The Kingdom of Strangers. She was also the runner-up for the 2008 Saif Ghobash-Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation.
