Jack Harris Author & Editor

Joy Harris was born in Tripoli, Libya (her father was in the Air Force) but grew up in Panama City, Florida. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics Education from Florida State University and later obtained a Master’s Degree in Education as well as Psychology.

Joy taught Home Economics for six years before taking a job with the state of Florida as a Marketing Specialist promoting Florida seafood. She has presented numerous cooking demonstrations appearing on a variety of television and radio shows. At one of those on-air appearances Joy met Jack, and as Jack would say “Holy guacamole!” The rest is history.

Jack Harris attended Davidson College and graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s degree in History. From 1970 until present Jack has worked extensively in the Tampa Bay radio and television market. Jack has been a member of the broadcast team of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for many years, as well as the Storm and the Outback Bowl.

He has been a host of several number one rated radio and television shows and is currently co-host of AM Tampa Bay on FOX radio 970 WFLA. “Cracker” Jack also served as honorary Mayor of Ybor City and is the author of Jack Harris Unwrapped: Ruminations, Recipes and Robust Raillery. Jack is married to Joy. Together they have a son Jackson who is also an avid gastronome.
