Philip J. Ivanhoe is a Professor in the Department of East Asian Languages & Cultures at Georgetown University and Visiting Distinguished Chair Professor in the College of Confucian Studies and Eastern Philosophy at Sungkyunkwan University. Hwa Yeong Wang is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Emory University in the Fox Center for Humanistic Inquiry. She received her Ph.D. in Philosophy, Interpretation, and Culture at the State University of New York at Binghamton. Her research focuses on ancient Chinese and Korean Confucianism, especially their influence on women and gender through ritual.
