Hoang Nguyen Translator, Author & Editor

Dr. Hoang Nguyen is a lecturer and researcher of the Surface Mining Department, Mining Faculty, Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), Hanoi, Vietnam. Since 2019, he has been an Assistant Professor with the Surface Mining Department, Mining Faculty, HUMG. He is the author of two books and more than 80 ISI articles published with high-quality. His research interests include advanced mining techniques, smart sensors, real-time sensors, artificial intelligence applications, optimization algorithms, natural hazards, environmental problems, and management. He is also PI and scientific secretary and key members of a variety of projects/grants related to AI applications in mining and the state-of-the-art techniques in mining for sustainable and responsible mining. He is the editor of two journals and a potential reviewer of more than 30 distinguished ISI journals. Dr. Hoang Nguyen received the young talent award in Science and Technology of HUMG in 2019. Prof. Xuan-Nam Bui received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in mining engineering from Hanoi University of Mining and Geology (HUMG), Vietnam, in 2001 and the Dr.-Ing. degree in mining engineering from Technische Univesitaet Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, in 2004. From 1996 to 2008, he was a Lecturer at HUMG. He was an Associate Professor with the Surface Mining Department, HUMG, in 2009. Since 2009, he has been appointed as a Full Professor there. He is the author of 15 books, more than 200 articles, including 50 ISI and 16 Scopus articles. His research interests include the uses of AI in building models, evaluating and predicting impacts of mining and engineering activities on the environment for sustainable development. He is an Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Mining and Earth Sciences of HUMG. Dr. Xuan-Nam Bui is a member of the Society of Mining Professors and some editorial boards of national and international journals. Yosoon Choi is a professor at Department of Energy Resources Engineering, Pukyong National University, South Korea. He is leading the Geo-ICT Laboratory at Pukyong National University since 2011. He has been working in the areas of smart mining, renewables in mining, AICBM (AI, IoT, cloud, big data, mobile) convergence, unmanned aerial vehicle, mine planning and design, open-pit mining operation, mine safety, geographic information systems, 3D geo-modeling, geostatistics, hydrological analysis, energy analysis and simulation and renewable energy systems. He has written over 140 peer-reviewed academic papers and edited 8 special issues in scientific journals such as 'Applications of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Mining from Exploration to Reclamation', 'Recent Advances in Smart Mining Technology', and 'GeoAI: Integration of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning with GIS'. Dr. Wengang ZHANG is currently full professor in School of Civil Engineering, Chongqing University, China. His research interests focus on deep braced excavation, slope stability, as well as big data and machine learning in geotechnics and geoengineering. He is now the members of the ISSMGE TC304 (Reliability), TC309 (Machine Learning), TC219 (System Performance of Geotechnical Structures) and TC222 (Digital Twin). He has published 117 academic articles in internationally reputable journals and 17 papers were of ESI highly cited (3 out of them are Hot papers). The overall citation is greater than 4600, with h index of 36. He was selected as the 2021 Most Cited Chinese Researchers for exceptional research performance in the field of Civil Engineering. He serves journal Geoscience Frontiers as Associate Editor, and is in the editorial board of Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, Georisk, Natural Hazards Research, etc. He won the Georisk Most Cited Paper Award 2021, Underground Space Outstanding Paper Award 2021 and Computers and Geotechnics Sloan Outstanding Paper Award 2019. Dr. Jian Zhou received the Ph.D. degree from the School of Resources and Safety Engineering, Central South University, Changsha, China, in 2015. From 2013 to 2014, he was a Visitor scholar with the McGill University, Montreal, Canada. His current research interests in prediction and control of mining and geotechnical engineering hazards using machine learning methods, including rockburst in deep hardrock mining and high-stress conditions, pillar and stope stability analysis, blast vibration, slope stability analysis. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Resource and Safety Engineering, Central South University. He is a member of ISRM and invited to serve as the Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports, International Journal of Mining Science and Technology, Advances in Civil Engineering, Applied Sciences, Metaheuristic Computing and Applications. He has published more than 100 papers in well-established ISI and Scopus journals, national and international conferences. His citation and H-index are 3500 and 33, respectively.
