Germano Melissano, Associate Professor of Vascular Surgery, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan. He is a researcher in Clinical Trials and Surgery. One of his current projects is "Spinal Cord Ischemia after open and endovascular aortic procedures". He has been the Organizer and Scientific Director of 15 Courses of Surgical Techniques concerning: Anastomotic techniques and peripheral revascularization, Carotid Surgery, Abdominal Aortic Surgery, held in Milan (Italy), Siena (Italy) and Salvador Bahia (Brazil). He has been the Organizer and Scientific Director of 6 editions of the international congress "Aortic Surgery: How to do it", held in Milan with the participation of more than 1000 delegates in each edition. He has been Teacher and Secretary of the 5-year Residency Program in Vascular Surgery at San Raffaele University. Furthermore, he is teacher in other surgical residency programs at the same University. He has been Co-Director of the Postgraduate Master Course in Aortic Surgery at San Raffaele University. In 26 years of surgical experience, he has performed over 12,000 operations, including open and endovascular cases, major complex aortic cases, thoracic, abdominal, thoracoabdominal, carotid, peripheral, splanchnic and venous cases. Roberto Chiesa is Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and Director of the Vascular Surgery Unit of San Raffaele Hospital, Milan, Italy. He is a member of the most prestigious Italian and international Vascular Surgery Societies, author of 9 monographs and more than 700 scientific publications in Italian and international journals. He has participated as a lecturer at more than 300 national and international congresses concerning vascular surgery. He is the scientific coordinator of the Vascular Update Journal that is dedicated to the regular updating of international literature in the fields of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He is an Appointed Member of the Planning commission to put forward suggestions and opinions related to the institutional activities of the Italian Ministry of Health. He has been Board member of the French Society of Vascular Surgery (SCV – Société de Chirurgie Vasculaire de Langue Française) and, subsequently, President elected of the French Society of Vascular Surgery for the year 2013.
