Georgina Rivera Author

John SanGiovanni is a best-selling author and nationally recognized leader in mathematics education. He works as a mathematics coordinator in Howard County, Maryland leading curriculum development, digital mathematics education, assessment, and professional learning. As an adjunct professor at McDaniel College, John is focused on developing mathematics specialists and teacher leaders. He also works as a national consultant providing professional learning for content, pedagogy, and curriculum design. John is a frequent speaker at state and national conferences. He is active in professional organizations serving on the Board of Directors for both the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics. Susie Katt is the K-2 Mathematics Coordinator in Lincoln, Nebraska. In this role, she coordinates professional development, assessment, and curriculum development. Susie is an author for a national mathematics curriculum. She frequently speaks at state, regional, and national conferences. Susie is a special appointment lecturer for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a Robert Noyce Master Teaching Fellow, and a member of various state committees. She serves NCTM in a variety of ways which include chair of the Editorial Panel for the Teaching Children Mathematics journal, member of program committees for annual meetings and regional conferences, and speaker at NCTM institutes. Latrenda Knighten is the elementary math curriculum content trainer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She has been an educator for more than 30 years, and is an active member of many professional organizations. She currently serves as the NCSM Southern Region 2 team leader for Louisiana and secretary for the Benjamin Banneker Association, Inc. Latrenda is also a past member of the NCTM Board of Directors. Georgina Rivera is a passionate math educator, coach, author, and presenter focused on equity, collective teacher efficacy, culturally relevant pedagogy, and teacher leadership. She currently serves as a school administrator for Bristol Public Schools. Prior to this position, she was the district’s math coach and elementary STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) supervisor; she began her career as a middle school math teacher. Georgina serves on various local and national boards focused on math education and leadership. She began her new role as NCSM vice president in September 2021.
