Gail Boushey Author

Gail Boushey is an educator, author, speaker, and entrepreneur. Gail is the co-author of the best-selling books The Daily 5: Fostering Literacy Independence in the Elementary Grades, first and second editions and The CAFE Book: Engaging All Students in Daily Literacy Assessment and Instruction, first and second editions. She is also the co-creator of the Daily 5 Framework and CAFE Literacy System and co-owner of The Daily CAFE company, she leads a passionate team to empower educators to individualize instruction, increase student independence, and provide authentic work for students. Her company provides training to educators in various settings, offering live workshops, online seminars, graduate courses, consulting services, an online conferring notebook, and an extensive database of resources at TheDailyCAFE.com. Gail Boushey’s work as a literacy coach and author is based on her classroom experiences, which range from preschool through grade six and special education. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, Child Studies and Special Education and has a Master's degree in Special Education. “I want what every teacher wants: effective teaching methods that can adapt as things change, and to lead our children to a lifetime of learning.” Gail has three daughters and enjoys concerts, camping, reading, and cooking.
