The Editors: Falco Pfalzgraf is Lecturer for German Linguistics and Medieval German at Queen Mary, University of London. He serves as Convenor for Language and Linguistics at the Centre for Anglo-German Cultural Relations. He completed his doctoral thesis on linguistic purism in Germany (University of Manchester, 2003). His main research areas are: the influence of English upon German, Linguistic Purism, and the relationships between politics, language, and culture.
Felicity Rash is Professor of German Linguistics at Queen Mary, University of London. Professor Rash completed her doctoral thesis on the influence of French and Italian on Swiss German in 1987 and has published on the German language in Switzerland, German-Swiss literature, linguistic purism and nationalist discourse. Her monograph The Language of Violence: Hitler’s Mein Kampf, appeared in 2006. She is currently working on German nationalist discourse during the period 1871-1914.
