Roger Frank is an Honorary Professor at Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC). He has devoted his entire career to the French highway administration ‘Ponts et Chaussées’ (at LCPC, then at ENPC), researching on situ testing and the design of foundations. From 1998 to 2004, he chaired the committee on Eurocode 7 on Geotechnical design, and from 2013 to 2017 he was the President of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE).
Fahd Cuira is the Scientific Director of Terrasol (Setec group), a major consultancy in geotechnical engineering in France and abroad. He is a recognised expert in complex soil-structure interaction problems under static and seismic loads. He is the author of several software packages widely used in France, dealing with the design of foundations and retaining structures. Since 2018 he has been in charge of the design course for geotechnical structures at ENPC.
Sébastien Burlon is a Project Director at Terrasol (Setec group), a major consultancy in geotechnical engineering in France and abroad. He has been involved since the beginning of his career in many projects on various geotechnical structures. He has participated or directed several research projects in France and Europe, such as swelling-shrinkage of clays, piles under cyclic loads, geothermal energy, and pressuremeter tests. He is also involved in standardisation work as chair of two project teams linked to the evolution of Eurocode 7.
