Dr. Argenziano’s main research field is the clinical diagnosis of melanoma and, particularly, the development of more accurate methods for the early recognition of melanoma. He is author of numerous scientific articles concerning dermoscopy for the diagnosis of pigmented skin lesions and early recognition of melanoma. He is also author of 3 books on the subject (two published by Elsevier, one by Springer). Dr. Argenziano is Secretary of the International Dermoscopy Society and is the Congress Secretary of the First Congress of the International Dermoscopy Society in Naples in April 2006 (www.dermoscopy-ids.org/). His research on melanoma is very well regarded in the field. Because he is both a researcher and clinician, most of his research is very translational and has worldwide adoption. Dr. Argenziano is also among the top 20 researchers by publications in melanoma as indexed by SciVal. Aimilios Lallas is a Board-Certified Dermatologist-Venereologist at the First Department of Dermatology of Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece.He is specialized in skin cancer diagnosis with non-invasive techniques, as well as in the management of skin cancer patients.His main field of research interest is dermoscopy of skin tumors, the application of the method in general dermatology and the improvement of the management of oncologic patients. He is an author of approximately 150 scientific papers published on Pubmed Central, most of them on dermoscopy, and of several book chapters on dermoscopy. He is a co-investigator in several Phase III Clinical trials on skin cancer treatment.He is invited speaker in several domestic and international congresses and meetings, mainly on the topic of dermoscopy.He has been awarded several scholarships and scientific awards. Dr Lallas is currently the General Secretery of the International Dermoscopy Society. He is also the Secretary of the 5th World Congress of Dermoscopy to be held on 2018 in Greece. Caterina Longo is Associate Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy.Although providing the best care possible for patients remains her primary goal, she also committed to education and clinical research. She is actively involved in clinical research and she has published numerous papers on topics related to skin cancer with an emphasis on melanoma, atypical nevi, Spitz/Reed nevi and non-melanoma skin cancer. Her research interests are focused on the use of imaging instruments such as dermoscopy, and confocal laser microscopy to recognize skin cancer early in its development. She pioneered the use of ex vivo fluorescence confocal microscopy for micrographic Mohs surgery applied for basal cell carcinoma and other visceral tumors. She frequently lectures on these topics both nationally and internationally being the second Author publishing on this topic (source Scopus, December 2016) for a total of 250 papers (H-Index 28; citations 2702). Elvira Moscarella is a Board-Certified Dermatologist-Venereologist at the Department of Dermatology of University of Campania, Naples, Italy.She is specialized in the management of skin cancer patients and skin cancer diagnosis with non-invasive techniques, such as dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy. Her main field of research interest is early melanoma diagnosis and dermoscopy of skin cancer, she also gained expertise in pediatric dermatology. Dr Moscarella is an author of about 170 scientific papers published on Pubmed Central, and several book chapters on dermoscopy. She has been awarded several scholarships and scientific awards.Over the last years, she was invited speaker in several domestic and international congresses and meetings, mainly on dermoscopy and on skin cancer diagnosis and management. She is currently executive board member of the International Dermoscopy Society, and executive board member of AIDNID (Italian association for non invasive imaging in dermatology). Athanassios Kyrgidis is a Board-Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is a clinical research fellow in University Clinics in Reggio Italy, Thessaloniki Greece and Dessau Germany. He is specialized in skin cancer diagnosis and surgical treatment, as well as in the multidisciplinary management of skin cancer patients. His main field of research interest is predictors, diagnosis and management of skin tumors, multidisciplinary treatment modalities in dermatologic oncology and the improvement of the management of oncologic patients. He is an author of over 100 scientific papers, most of them on skin tumors and of several book chapters on skin cancer. Among those the “Risk Factors for Non Melanoma Skin Cancer of the Evidence Based Dermatology Textbook. He is the lead author of the “Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy for Melanoma Cochrane Collaboration Systematic Review. His papers sum up a cumulative impact factor of over 500. His publications received 1659 citations in 11 years, with an h-index value of 20 (Google Scholar 17-11-2016). He is a co-investigator in Phase III Clinical trials. He has been awarded post-doctoral scholarships and scientific awards. Dr Kyrgidis is a member of the Greek and European Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He was formerly member of the Ethics Review Board of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is listed in Marquis "Who is Who in the World" since 2010. Gerardo Ferrara is Head of the Anatomic Pathology Unit at the General Hospital of Macerata, Italy.His main routine work is on is dermatopathology, with special emphasis on clinicopathological correlation and on clinicopathological diagnosis of melanocytic skin tumors. In the field of Clinical Dermatology and Dermatopathology, Dr. Ferrara has authored more than 200 full scientific articles. Over the past 20 years he has been invited as speaker and/or chairman in more than 300 national and international conferences in the field of dermatology.
