Kazys Boruta (1905–1965) was a Lithuanian writer and poet. Born during the era of Czarist domination over Lithuania, his leftist leanings brought him arrest, imprisonment, exile, and a ban on his work during the period of independence between the wars. Elizabeth Novickas's translations include Ricardas Gavelis's Vilnius Poker (Open Letter, 2009) and Kazys Boruta's Whitehorn's Windmill (CEU Press, 2010).
