Grace Russo Bullaro is Professor of English at City University of New York Lehman College. She has published many articles on Italian cinema, on Postmodernism and the media, and on the effects of globalization on culture. Recent books have been on the cinema of directors Roberto Benigni, and Lina Wertmüller. Her most recent, From Terrone to Extracomunitario, New Manifestations of Racism in Italian Cinema, shifted her focus of study to identity politics and was the result of years of research and a two-year collaboration with the Italian Studies at Oxford University program, “Destination Italy”. Elena Benelli is Lecturer in Italian Studies at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Université de Montreal. Her current research interests include migrant literature and cinema in Italy and Italian migrant women writers. Her research has been published in international journals and edited collections.
