Edward Fishman is one of the world’s leading authorities on economic statecraft and sanctions. He teaches at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and is a senior research scholar at the Center on Global Energy Policy. Previously, he served at the Pentagon, the U.S. Treasury Department and the U.S. State Department, where he was part of the Iran sanctions team, helped implement the Iran nuclear deal, and helped design and negotiate sanctions on Russia after its 2014 annexation of Crimea.
