Dr David Trickey is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist specialising in helping traumatised and bereaved children and young people. He works at the Anna Freud Centre in London and at Cambridge Clinical Psychology Services. He has worked as a clinical psychologist with children and young people since 1994, becoming Head of Child Psychology in South Lincolnshire in 1998, and has specialised in trauma and bereavement since 2000 when he worked at the Traumatic Stress Clinic as it became part of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He was commissioned by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport to evaluate the Humanitarian Assistance Centre following the London terrorist attacks on 7th July 2005. From 2006 he was Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Leicester Royal Infirmary Children's Hospital and then in 2009 he became Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist of a Child Trauma and Bereavement Service as it left the NHS and became a Social Enterprise. He acts as an Expert Witness or Advisor for the Courts or the Police, teaches on the Child and Young Person - Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (CYP-IAPT) course at University College London (UCL), is part of the group that advises the national CYP-IAPT project on the use of outcome measures, he supervises doctoral research, and was a part of the NICE Evidence Update Group on PTSD.
