Former journalist and conference producer, David Middleton became an advocate of sustainable development in 1988 when he had a "green epiphany" whilst standing on a bridge in Pittsburgh USA. Before retiring in 2013, he had been CEO of the UK branch of The World Business Council for Sustainable Development, CEO of the MEBC, a sustainable development business network, and Secretary General of The Urban Renewal Foundation. He now writes full time.
