Lydia Black was a highly-regarded anthropologist and historian of Russian Alaska and Alaskan native cultures. A professor at the University of Alaska, she authored several books, including Russians in Alaska, 1732-1867. Daniel Marshall is the rector of the Holy Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Goshen, Indiana. A Russian-language translator, he is also the author of St. Seraphim's Beatitudes: Blessings for Our Path to Heaven. He lives in Middlebury, Indiana.
