Daniel Kraft is a practicing sports medicine physician in the Indianapolis area. In his spare time, he is also a collector and scholar of historic Indiana art with an emphasis on Brown County. This monograph is his initial experience with writing in the world of art history. He currently resides in Carmel, Indiana, with his loving wife, Marci Royalty, and wonderful daughter, Kathryn. Jim Ross holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Herron School of Art, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, graduating in 1989. His first job upon graduating art school was with the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where he developed his love of historic American art, and specifically early Indiana art. He has been the co-owner of Eckert & Ross Fine Art in Indianapolis for over 18 years, curating, researching, and writing extensively there about early Indiana art. Mr. Ross has volunteered on the boards of directors of several arts organizations over the years, most recently with the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation and with Indiana Heritage Arts, both based in Nashville, Indiana. Gregg Hertzlieb has a master's degree in fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a master's degree in education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. An exhibiting artist working primarily in watercolor and pen and ink, Hertzlieb has shown his art in numerous exhibitions. His work is in both public and private collections. Hertzlieb has edited and contributed to numerous publications for the Brauer Museum of Art. In addition to performing his duties at the museum, Hertzlieb teaches Museum Studies, Managing Facilities, and Printmaking; serves as art editor for Valparaiso University's journal The Cresset; and contributes essays on Brauer collection objects to the Valparaiso Poetry Review. Hertzlieb is a native of Northwest Indiana and lives in La Porte.
