Damian Corless fell into music journalism after several years of trying and failing to become a rock star. He cut his teeth at Hot Press, double-jobbing as MTV Europe's first Irish correspondent. After spells as Editor of the culture guide In Dublin and the current affairs monthly Magill, he joined the country's top selling daily newspaper, the Irish Independent. With more than a dozen books on Irish history and society to his name, Damian was a shortlisted author for the Irish Book Of The Year Awards in 2019. He has written television comedy sketches for the BBC and RTE. His stage comedy 'Death Wish '16: The GPO' debuted at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival in 2015 with Ardal O'Hanlon as rebel leader Padraig Pearse. He lives in Dublin.
