Paul Leeson is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford and Head of the Oxford Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility. He is also a Consultant Cardiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he provides expertise in cardiovascular imaging and hypertension. He has pioneered the use of novel imaging approaches in preventive cardiology research and works on some of the largest imaging studies in the world. In 2007 he edited the first Oxford Specialist Handbook in Cardiology and, since then, has worked on a range of cardiology books for Oxford University Press. Cristiana Monteiro is a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist and Deputy Lead of Echocardiography and Physiology Services of the Oxford Cardiovascular Clinical Research Facility. She is EACVI and BSE accredited in adult transthoracic echocardiography, as well as certified in cardiac devices by IBHRE and EHRA. Cristiana has specialist interest in the diagnosis and management of heart failure, developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the creation of tools to improve patient pathways. She is a STEM ambassador, with a passion for research, teaching and education. Cristiana also develops her practice at the Barts Heart Centre in London. Dan Augustine is a consultant cardiologist with subspecialty in cardiac imaging and sports cardiology. Dan qualified in 2002 from St Bartholomew's and the Royal London Medical School and completed his cardiology training in the South West of England. He has undertaken a cardiovascular imaging research fellowship at the University of Oxford (UK), leading to his MD degree. Dan is accredited in transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and cardiac MRI. He has been heavily involved in the implementation of national echocardiography guidelines and is the author / editor of several national and international cardiology textbooks. Harald Becher finished his cardiology training at the University of Bonn, Germany and became Professor of Cardiac Ultrasound at Oxford University, and consultant cardiologist leading the echocardiography laboratory of the Oxford University Hospital. Since 2010 he is Professor of Medicine and the Heart and Stroke Foundation Chair for Cardiovascular Research at the University of Alberta, Canada. His clinical research group belongs to the leaders in the development of contrast echocardiography and its implementation into clinical practice. Harald has served on several committees for practice guidelines of the American Society of Echocardiography and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.
