Chenjerai Hove was a poet, novelist and essayist born in 1956 in Mazvihwa, near Zvishavane, Zimbabwe. He was educated at the University of South Africa and the University of Zimbabwe and worked as an educator, journalist. He was also a founding board member of the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association and was eventually forced to live in exile, moving between France, the US, and Norway. Hove has published numerous novels, poetry anthologies, and collections of essays. Bones, his first novel written in English, won the Noma Award for publishing in Africa. Hove died in Norway in 2015.
