Charles Phillips, author, is an established writer of popular history. He contributed to Cassell's Dictionary of Modern Britain and was a key writer on Time Life's Myth and Mankind. His other books include The Illustrated History of Knights & the Golden Age of Chivalry (Lorenz Books). Dr John Haywood FRHistS, consultant, is an Honorary Research Fellow at Lancaster University.
