Miguel Ángel Cau Ontiveros is ICREA Research Professor and director of the Archaeological and Archaeometrical Research Group of the University of Barcelona (ERAAUB), Spain. He is an archaeologist focused on the Late Antique Mediterranean and on archaeometry of ceramics. He is co-director of the excavations of the Roman city of Pollentia and the early Christian site of Son Peretó in the Balearics. He has been Visiting Professor at the universities of Cagliari, Sassari (Italy) and Brown (USA). Catalina Mas Florit is an archaeologist focusing on Late Antiquity, especially in the western Mediterranean with a particular interest in island systems and rural areas. She has directed the excavations of the Roman villa of Sa Mesquida (Mallorca, Spain), and the Early Christian complex of Illa del Rei (Menora, Spain).
