Carol Rose GoldenEagle Author

Carol Rose GoldenEagle is Cree/Dene with roots in Sandy Bay, northern Saskatchewan. She is a published and award-winning novelist, poet, playwright, visual artist, and musician. She is the author of the award-winning novel Bearskin Diary (2015), Hiraeth, a book of poetry (2018), Bone Black (2019), and Narrows of Fear (2020). In June of 2021, Carol was named as the 2021-2023 Saskatchewan Poet Laureate. In 2022, she was named as a Member of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit for her years of cross-cultural work within the Arts & Culture community.  Before pursuing her art on a full-time basis, Carol worked as a journalist for more than 30 years in television and radio at APTN, CTV, and CBC. Hawlii Pichette is a Mushkego Cree (Treaty 9) urban mixed-blood artist and illustrator born and raised in the small community of Cochrane, Ontario. Her work is deeply influenced by her culture and upbringing, and reflects the beautiful interconnections of the natural world. Her practice includes illustrations, digital artwork, painting, murals, and beadwork. Hawlii graduated from Fanshawe College’s advanced Fine Art program with Honors in 2017, receiving the Satellite Award exhibition. She currently lives and works as a freelance artist in London, Ontario.
