Cameron Crowe began his writing career aged 15 as a music journalist, becoming a regular contributor to Rolling Stone. His movie career began with the script for cult hit Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), adapted from his own book. He began directing with Say Anything (1989) and Singles (1992), followed by the hit Jerry Maguire (1996) and Almost Famous (2000), for which he won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
