C S Narayanamurthy Author

C. S. Narayanamurthy is currently working as a Senior Professor with the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology(IIST, Valiamala (PO), Trivandrum, India. Prof. Narayanamurthy did his Ph.D from IIT Madras in the area of Laser Speckle Interferometry. He then carried out his post-doctoral research in dynamic holography using photorefractive crystals at the Imperial College, London, U.K during 1990-91. He works mainly in the area of Applied Optics (Holography, Optical Metrology) and Adaptive Optics (Wavefront sensing, Imaging through turbulence etc). Prof. Narayanamurthy has published more than 70 papers and is a recipient of the 2022 Galileo Galilee Award instituted by the International Commission of Optics (ICO) for his contributions in Applied and Adaptive Optics. He is also currently the President of the Optical Society of India and a Distinguished Fellow of the Optical Society of India.
