Brad DeFord Author

Dr. Suzanne Bushfield is Clinical Associate Professor and BSW Director of the Department of Social Work at Arizona State University. Her scholarship focuses on challenges from significant life events across the life span, with an emphasis on end of life issues, aging, caregiving, and spirituality. Her publications include a contracted book with Morley Glicken on Evidence-Based Practice with Older Adults: A Psychosocial Perspective on Successful Aging(Rowman and Littlefield). She has contributed the chapter ""Child welfare practice"" in Multicultural Approaches to Caring for Children, Youth, and Families (Allyn and Bacon) and ""Doing Social Work Research"" in More Days in the Lives of Social Workers (White Hat Communications).||

Brad DeFord, PhD, M Div, writes about aging, addiction, spiritual development, and end-of-life care. Through his private practice, Thresholds, he is a certified transitions consultant and life coach. He is also certified as a Level One Hospice Manager through The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO). Brad has been a church pastor, a hospice chaplain, and the leader and developer of a bereavement program. For 6 years he served as the Leader of the Spiritual Caregiver Section of the National Council of Hospice and Palliative Professionals (NCHPP). Brad holds advanced degrees from Union Theological Seminary in New York and the Divinity School of the University of Chicago
