Beth Harland Editor

Beth Harland is Professor of Fine Art and Director of Insight, a research centre at the University of Lancaster, UK, and is an artist and writer, specializing in pictorial practice. She is Associate Editor of the Journal of Contemporary Painting and leads the Modes of Address research project in collaboration with the Centre for Visual Cognition, University of Southampton. She is the author of A Fragment of Time in the Pure State; Painting in Search of Haptic Time (2009) and editor of Behind the Eyes; Making Pictures (2013), a collection of works and writings by contemporary painters. Sunil Manghani is Reader in Critical and Cultural Theory at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton, UK. His publications appear in Theory, Culture & Society, Film International, Parallax, Journal of Visual Art Practice, and Culture, Theory and Critique. He is the author of Image Critique (2008) and co-editor of Images: A Reader (2006), an anthology of writings on the image from Plato to the present.
