Dr Astha Jain is a vitreoretinal surgeon. She completed her MD in ophthalmology from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, followed by a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery from H V Desai Eye Hospital, Pune. She worked as a vitreoretinal surgeon at Narayana Netralaya, Bangalore before joining Aditya Jyot Foundation. She has several international publications to her credit and is a reviewer for several journals.  She is the recipient of Prof. Yasuo Tano Travel Grant for APAO 2013 and also a recipient of Sir Ratan Tata and Sir JRD Tata scholarships for excelling in academics. She is actively involved in training of vitreoretina fellows at her center. Her areas of interest include diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, retinopathy of prematurity, posterior uveitis and diagnostics in retinal disorders.

Prof.  Dr. S. Natarajan is a vitreoretinal surgeon and is the Chairman & Managing Director of Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, Mumbai. He is a Charter Inductee in the Retina Hall of Fame. He is the President of Organized Medicine Academic Guild (OMAG)  Asia Pacific Ophthalmic Trauma Society (APOTS). He is Past President of All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS)   Ocular Trauma Society of India (OTSI). He is also the  Secretary General of Genetics Eye Genetics Consortium (GEGC) and Board Member of Retina World Congress (RWC)   International Society of Ocular Trauma (ISOT).

The Prestigious International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) has appointed him as ICO Board of Trustees for 2018 – 2020. He was conferred with the prestigious Padmashree award in the year 2013, and he was the first Indian to receive the Gusi Peace Prize. He was also awarded the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award by APAO. He has more than 100 publications and has edited two books. His areas of interest are ocular trauma, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, inherited retinal disorders and diabetic retinopathy. 

 

Dr. Sandeep Saxena is professor and chief of retina service, Department of Ophthalmology, King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, India. After his postgraduation from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, he completed two vitreoretinal postdoctoral fellowships at Barnes Retina Institute and Anheuser Busch Eye Institute, St. Louis, USA and New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York, USA. He has been a DAAD Fellow, Bonn, Germany and a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University, UK and Harvard Medical School, USA. He is on the editorial board of several journals and has 23 books, 40 book chapters and over 150 publications to his credit. He also designed “Saxena Retinal Grid-428 and 520” (Ocular Instruments, USA) for measuring retinal lesions.
