Arvind Kumar Jain Author & Editor

Prof. Srinivasan Chandrasekaran has maintained a balance between academic and practical experience in the past 30 years. He has interests in structural dynamics and earthquake engineering, nonlinear dynamics of offshore structures under environmental loads, structural health monitoring and control. Dr. Chandrasekaran has a combined experience of teaching, research, and Industrial consultancy and has completed many research-based industrial consultancy projects resulting in the design and development of new design principles/mechanisms as applied to buildings and offshore structures. He is an active researcher, who successfully guided about 30 research thesis, 170 papers published in refereed journals, and flag conference proceedings. He also authored about 17 textbooks in offshore structural engineering, published by leading international publishers.

Professor Arvind Kumar Jain obtained B.E. (Civil Engineering) from the then University of Roorkee, now Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and Ph.D. (Structural Engineering) from IIT Delhi. His areas of research interests are Earthquake-resistant analysis of structures, wind load analysis of structures, Structural Dynamics, Offshore Structures, Tall Structures and Reliability Engineering. He has published large number of papers in International Journals and in International/National Conferences. Text book titled "Ocean structures: Construction, materials and operation" is a quite popular number amongst the Graduate students of Offshore engineering consultants. Besides, he has also supervised several Ph.D., and M.Tech. and B.Tech. students' projects in both civil and structural enigneering. He is member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers, USA.
