Antony Rowland (b.1970) is Professor of Modern and Contemporary Poetry at Manchester Metropolitan University where he teaches literature and creative writing. Antony Rowland's books include The Land of Green Ginger (Salt, 2008)-which was shortlisted for the Michael Murphy Award-and I Am a Magenta Stick (Salt, 2012). His poems have been anthologised in Identity Parade: New British and Irish Poets (Bloodaxe, 2010), and New Poetries III (Carcanet, 2003). He received an Eric Gregory Award from the Society of Authors in 2000, and recorded for the national Poetry Archive in 2009, and the Lyrikline (Berlin) in 2014. He was awarded the Manchester Poetry Prize in 2012. Antony has read in a variety of international settings, including Nijmegen (2015), New York (2011), Berlin (2009), Gdansk (2007) and Strasbourg (2002). The Dutch government elected him as a UK poetry `ambassador' for 2016: his poetry was read on national television, and shown on screens at Schipol airport and Amsterdam Central Station.
