Annie Lord Author

Annie Lord is a writer and artist based in Midlothian. Her work explores how we interact with the physical world – transforming plants, animals and minerals into objects of artistic, scientific and domestic value. In 2020, Annie created The Neighbouring Orchard, a major ongoing artwork commissioned by Art Walk Projects developing a community of 160 apple trees across Edinburgh’s coastal suburbs. An accompanying book, written and illustrated by Annie was published in 2022 by Art Walk Press. In 2023 she was shortlisted for the Nan Shepherd Prize in nature writing for her work in progress, Morphoses: On Nature’s Processes and Processed Nature.
