Andy Reid has served for 13 years with 3rd Battalion, The Yorkshire Regiment. He is in rehabilitation after the severe injuries he received while serving in Sangin District, Afghanistan in October 2009. As a result of the explosion he lost both legs and his right arm. He is receiving on going treatment for his left arm, which was also damaged and is now fitted with a metal plate. Andy is currently attached to the Personnel Recovery Unit (PRU) Headquarters 42 (North West) Brigade in Preston, which is helping to cultivate future opportunities. He is also involved with The Soldiers Charity, meeting amazing and inspirational people who push themselves to their physical and mental limit to raise much-needed funds. Andy might be a triple amputee but he doesn't let this stop him from living the life he loves. He is currently in training for a 10k challenge.
