Ana Peluffo specializes in affect and the emotions in Latin American literatures and cultures, transnational feminisms and nineteenth-century cultural studies. Ronald Briggs studies the convergence of education and literary theory. Publications include Tropes of Enlightenment in the Age of Bolivar: Simón Rodríguez and the American Essay at Revolution and The Moral Electricity of Print: Transatlantic Education and the Lima Women's Circuit, 1876-1910 (2017) which was awarded the Best Book Prize by the Nineteenth-Century section of the Latin American Studies Association in 2018.
