The editors of this volume all completed doctoral studies in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge in the early 2000s. Amiria Henare conducted fieldwork in New Zealand and Scotland, and is now a curator in the Cambridge University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, lecturing in the Department of Social Anthropology. Martin Holbraad has studied money and divination in Cuba, and now lectures in Social Anthropology at University College London. Sari Wastell's has conducted research into Basque identity in Spain and divine kingship in Swaziland. She is a lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at Goldsmith's College in the University of London.
