Dr. Ali Fares is Associate Professor of Watershed Hydrology in the Watershed Hydrology Laboratory of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he has been teaching and performing research since 2002. Prior to that he was a resarch associate at the University of Florida, taught at Union University and Institute, Keiser College, and Warner Southern College, and served as research associate at Sentek. His current research is in watershed management, using a combination of experimental, theoretical and numerical modeling across a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. He has published a number of papers and served as co-chair or co-organizer of several international conferences in the field. Dr. Aly I. El-Kadi is Associate Professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics and Director of the Water Resources Research Center at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he has been based since 1989. Prior to that he was Associate Director for Research, in the Water Science Program, at Holcomb Research Institute, Research Scientist and Hydrologist, Holcomb Research Institute and Instructor at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt His recent research has included flooding the use of helium as an environmental tracer , watershed modeling and analysis, athe pplication and assessment of various types of groundwater models, modeling multiphase flow and transport of hydrocarbons, Numerical modeling flow and transport in field soils, databases and geographic information systems , bioremediation in tidal aquifers, contamination by agricultural and cesspool sources.
