Alisar-Jane Author

Alisar-Jane is the founder of True Colours Theatre CIO Foundation. True Colours Theatre CIO Foundation is her world! She has her own diagnosis of Autism and ADHD and know how important it is to find a place of belonging and to feel fully accepted for who you are. Her niece Emily-Kate has complex needs and whilst exploring groups with her mum and family she identified a need for a place where children and young adults could express themselves through the means of performing arts and where everyone could grow without any stigma or difference and in full acceptance. As a child Alisar secretly struggled and masked her emotions, she learnt that her safe place to express feelings was whilst performing, she could feel music, escape whilst singing and feel that magic! As a child she was undiagnosed so she would be labelled as 'the character', 'the over emotional one', 'the one who just couldn’t quite conform'… that was a hard job to keep up! She wanted to share Annabelle, the little girl who learnt to have her magic rainbow at all times so that she could visualise her feelings, she never wants anyone to feel that they are alone or worry about how they are feeling… Anabelle is very special to Alisar as she is based on her! She is thrilled to see Annabelle’s Rainbow come to life to help so many people and is so grateful to Caroline for her beautiful illustrations! All proceeds of the sales of this book are being donated to her much loved charity True Colours Theatre CIO Foundation to help with their vital work!
