He has served as the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing and is a Fellow of the IEEE, SIAM, and the Royal Society of Canada. José M. F. Moura is Philip L. and Marsha Dowd University Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, with appointments in the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and, by courtesy, of Biomedical Engineering. He is a Fellow of IEEE and AAAS, a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Portugal, and a member of the US NAE.
