Alberto Tenenti was Director of Studies at l'Ecole Practique des Hautes Etudes (Sorbonne, Paris). Brain Pullan is Emeritus Professor of Modern History, The University of Manchester. Janet Pullen has done research into the economics of the mainland provinces of the Venetian republic. Both of them have worked in the Venetian archives.
