Shahid Ul Islam, PhD, is a faculty and researcher at the Department of Chemistry, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), J & K, India. Before joining IUST in 2021, he worked at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi as a research scientist. His research is focused on imparting novel functions to polymers using organic chemistry, green technologies, and the valorization of biomass into useful products. He is the author of numerous scientific peer-reviewed journal papers and the editor of several books published by international publishers.
Aabid Hussain Shalla, PhD, is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Islamic University of Science and Technology, J&K, India. Presently he holds the position of Head, Department of Chemistry along with additional responsibilities of Associate Dean (School of Sciences), Associate Dean Research and Deputy Director (Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance). His research interests include synthesis of hybrid ion exchange materials/ion-selective electrodes/synthesis of smart responsive hydrogels to envisage their application in the removal and identification of toxic heavy metal ions, dyes, and polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in wastewaters and use of smart biocompatible hydrogels in drug delivery and wound healing. He has more than 35 publications in journals of international repute, 3 books, and many book chapters to his credit along with three completed Research Projects and 2 ongoing research projects.
Mohammad Shahadat, PhD, is working as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia. He has completed his doctorate from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU, Aligarh), U.P., India. He has worked on the synthesis and characterization of hybrid ion exchange materials for the removal of environmental pollutants. He spent two years as a post-doctoral fellow at USM, Malaysia's School of Industrial Technology. Later, he joined the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi as a DST-SERB project scientist. He has published over 60 research papers, including 8 review articles, 1 book (editor) and 25 book chapters, in journals of international repute. His research interests include synthesis, characterization, green technologies, Chitosan/Polyaniline-supported biodegradable nanocomposite materials and their significant applications in various fields, including drug delivery systems.
