Dumitru Staniloae

Through his theology, the late Romanian theologian Dumitru Staniloae (1903-1993) continues to be one of the most important Orthodox thinkers of modern times. A comprehensive analysis of his thought, Dumitru Staniloae: Tradition and Modernity in Theology is an assessment of his theology.

The editor, Lucian Turcescu, is an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at St. Francis Xavier University, Canada, interested in retrieving the patristic sources of modern concepts of person, and in the Roman Catholic-Orthodox ecumenical dialogue. He has published articles on early Christian concepts of person, Christology, ecumenism, and ecclesiology.
